Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria and his wife are seeking towards obtaining new passports for their medical leave. meanwhile Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife began the process of obtaining a new passport after a court’s ruling which granted them leave to travel to India for medical treatment – It was gathered that the El-Zakzakys passports got burnt during a crisis between members of the IMN and Nigerian soldiers in Zaria Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) and his wife Zaeenat are currently working towards getting new travel passports. A source within the organisation said the duo have started a process of obtaining new international passport to enable them travel to India for medical treatment.
Daily Trust reports that the source said the passports of El-Zakzaky and his wife were burnt during the crisis in Zaria, Kaduna state which led to their arrest in December 2015.
The source said the El-Zakzakys will be flying out to India for medical treatment as ruled by the court once their passports are ready. “Once they secure passports, they will obtain visas to fly out to India,” the source said.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that a Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna on Monday, August 5, granted the IMN leader and his wife permission to travel for medical treatment. The court’s permission was granted years after the duo were arrested by troops of the Nigerian Military after a clash between members of the IMN and soldiers in Zaria.
