Megan Thee Stallion says it was Canadian rapper Tory Lanez who shot her.
One day after sharing graphic photos of her gunshot wounds, the “Savage” rapper took to Instagram Live Thursday to make what she says are clarifications about the night she suffered gunshot wounds in both of her feet.
“Yes, this (expletive) Tory shot me,” she said. “You shot me and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying … stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand.”
USA TODAY reached out to Lanez’s reps for comment.
Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, said she “tried to keep the situation off the internet,” but felt compelled to speak her truth after previously trying to protect Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson.
“Even though he shot me, I tried to spare him,” Pete said. “He’s not in jail because I didn’t tell the (police) what happened as soon as it happened and I should have. … I didn’t have to spare nobody, but I did. And I’m done.”
Lie one more time and ima quit sparing you

Pete claimed that Peterson shot her following an argument in a vehicle on July 12. She hit back against claims that she provoked Peterson and denied that the argument stemmed from Kylie Jenner. (Jenner made a surprise appearance in Pete and Cardi B’s music video for “WAP.”)
“I didn’t tell the police what happened immediately right there because I didn’t want to die. I didn’t want the police to shoot me because there is a (expletive) with a gun in the car,” Pete said, referring to recent instances of police brutality that led to the reemergence of the Black Lives Matter Movement.
Peterson was arrested on a concealed weapons charge in the Hollywood Hills after the shooting, LAPD Officer Jeff Lee told the Associated Press.
Peterson, who has not posted on Instagram since the incident, is currently out on bond after posting $35,000 bail on July 12, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff Department’s Inmate Information Center. He’s due in court for a felony charge in October.
In response to rumors and jokes circulating online, Pete said, “Stop lying on me. Stop acting like Black women is the (expletive) problem. Stop acting like Black women is aggressive… Stop spreading lies.”
She continued: “You are scared to come tell everybody that you (expletive) shot me and you got your whole team on the internet lying trying to cover your (expletive). And I’m tired of it.”
“I was shot in both of my feet and I had to get surgery to get… the bullets taken out,” she said while fighting back tears. “It was super scary. It was just the worst experience of my life.”
On Wednesday, Pete shared a graphic image of her heel in an Instagram post (which has since been taken down) after critics accused her of fabricating the story.
“I got hit at the back of my feet because when I got shot I was WALKING AWAY FACING THE BACK,” she said. “Why would I lie abt getting shot? Why are y’all so upset that I don’t wanna be in the bed sad ? Why y’all upset that I can walk ?”
Pete continued: “Y’all people are so sick!” God was really watching over me and I’m healing so well! Sorry I’m not as sad and miserable as a lot of y’all lol but ima keep being Megan Thee Mf STALLION.”
She added that she got her stitches out of her feet about two weeks ago and was “ready to go celebrate WAP going number 1.”
